I love collecting Olivia Newton-John memorabilia. It's been a hobby since I was a kid in the 1990s. I have all kinds of things in my collection, and one of the more unique things that I added recently was found one day when surfing the Internet. A while ago, I had bought a journal from the bookstore that was made from an old record album, those great vinyl LPs that I always loved. I ended up losing the journal and was looking for the maker of it when I came across a cool Lulu store that sold another kind of interesting creation from record albums: record album bowls. I was intrigued by this cute, cool and artistic creation.
The name of the store I found is Coleraine Creations, which is run by a very nice artist named Paula. I inquired to see if she had any Olivia Newton-John items, fan that I am, and she responded by finding a record album and custom making me one. How's that for quick and kind customer service? What was even better, is that it was very inexpensive and made from one of my favorite albums, "Don't Stop Believin'." I ordered it right away. Here's how her artwork came out:
Also, a closer look at the label:

Paula, the artist behind Coleraine Creations, was also nice enough to answer some questions. She stated, "I love the Etsy site and having an easy way to sell my artwork online."
Given the fact that CDs and mp3s have resulted in most vinyl record albums being considered obsolete, with the music from the great ones resurrected and transferred into these new formats, I asked what made her think of doing these creations. She stated, "I love to find ways to give new life to unusable items, a form of recycling which has become to be call upcycled in the art world."
Paula also does custom orders, if you have your own Olivia Newton-John favorite record album that you'd also like to double as decorative art for your home. She confirmed her wllingness to do custom orders, expanding to let us know, "If I don’t have a particular album, I’ll try to find it or another that the customer might be just as happy with. I’ve also had people give me their own albums to upcycle into bowls."
Also, rest assured that care is taken with the conversion of LP into art. As Paula said, "I take pride in my work and try to produce a very high quality item. I clean the records with an all-natural essentials oils product, which also works as a disinfectant without the use of chemicals. The labels are also protected with a clear glossy finish."
You can contact Paula through her Etsy website, Coleraine Creations. In the future, she plans on doing other types of art from vinyl records as well, including clocks, so keep checking back with her.
This isn't an advertisement in any way. I just happened to think what she's doing is really neat, and I think the bowl is a lot of fun. There's a new bowl that she's recently added: Olivia Newton-John's 1976 album, Come on Over Bowl, in case you want to check it out.
